Pinhoe View provides specialist mental health support within a purpose‑built environment, offering personalised pathways and evidence‑based interventions that empower patients to build the skills, confidence, and independence they need for the future.

In this leadership role, you’ll manage and develop the Occupational Therapy provision across the hospital, guiding the team, shaping therapeutic programmes, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice. You will work closely with the Hospital Director, enjoying autonomy within your service while contributing to the strategic growth and development of therapies at Pinhoe View.

As a Lead Occupational Therapist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and co‑ordinating the delivery of individual treatment plans, ensuring that all occupational therapy interventions, activities, and rehabilitation pathways are implemented effectively by the OT team.
  • Receiving and responding promptly to referrals, completing patient assessments to identify and prioritise needs, and planning appropriate individual or group interventions.
  • Ensuring accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation, including detailed patient progress and rehabilitation records.
  • Developing living skills, rehabilitation programmes, and therapeutic/educational opportunities in line with the strategic direction of the Hospital Director and local OT strategy, adapting provision as patient needs evolve.
  • Providing effective leadership and management of junior staff, ensuring efficient day‑to‑day operations and supporting their ongoing development.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships across the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that practice aligns with Priory/Elysium policies, statutory regulations, and quality standards.
  • Actively supporting service development and business growth, promoting therapy services in line with the hospital’s business plan.
  • Maintaining clear and compassionate communication with patients, families, carers, and external partners throughout the therapeutic journey.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Holds a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy together with full BAOT membership and HPC registration.
  • The role holder will require at least 3 years’ experience including at least 1 years’ experience of working within an inpatient mental health setting. Also, one year experience of managing people.

Join the team at Pinhoe View - a new purpose-built facility where a range of mental health services are provided for adults with acute mental health conditions across two wards and eight individual flats. 

The 24-hour acute inpatient service is supported by a full multidisciplinary team, which specialises in the assessment, treatment and stabilisation of people suffering from a significant mental health episode and in crisis.  

Clinical and therapeutic services at Pinhoe View are delivered in a safe environment, providing the opportunity for recovery, while rehabilitation services provide pathway of care supporting individuals back to their community.
