Introduction

Are you a dedicated Clinical Psychologist looking to make a meaningful difference within a specialist mental health service? Join Dunnock View as a Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention to support positive outcomes for service users.

In this rewarding role, you will work autonomously while collaborating closely with psychiatrists, therapists, nursing colleagues, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver specialist psychological care. You will provide comprehensive psychological assessments, develop evidence-based formulations, and deliver therapeutic interventions tailored to the individual needs of service users.

As a Clinical Psychologist at Dunnock View, you will manage a clinical caseload, providing specialist psychological input to patients while also offering expert psychological perspectives to support the wider care of individuals across the service. You will contribute to therapeutic group programmes, participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences, and care reviews, and play a key role in informing treatment planning and risk management.

You will be responsible for maintaining high-quality clinical records, preparing assessment reports and discharge summaries, and ensuring all interventions are delivered in line with professional standards, evidence-based practice, and NICE guidance. Working collaboratively with patients, families, carers, and external agencies, you will help ensure holistic and person-centred care throughout the treatment journey.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will support the development of psychological services through supervision, training, and education. You will contribute to the supervision of Assistant Psychologists and may support psychology trainees on placement. You will also deliver psychological training and consultation to ward staff, helping to embed psychologically informed approaches throughout the service.

As an active member of the therapies team, you will contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance activities, audits, and co-production projects. You will have opportunities to apply research to practice, contribute to the ongoing development of psychology services, and support innovative approaches that enhance patient care and outcomes.

To be successful for this role, you will need:

  • Doctoral Degree in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychology
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Knowledge of current national policies, legislation and professional standards in practice.
