Are you an experienced regulatory compliance leader with a passion for quality, governance, and continuous improvement? Join Elysium Healthcare as the Group Regulatory Compliance Lead to lead our organisation-wide regulatory compliance and assurance function, ensuring our services consistently meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and care across England and Wales.
Reporting to senior clinical leadership, you will play a pivotal role in providing assurance to Elysium’s leadership teams that our hospitals and care homes are compliant with regulatory requirements, organisational standards, and best practice. You will use insight, evidence, and professional expertise to drive improvement, strengthen governance, and support excellent outcomes for service users.
As the organisation's senior regulatory compliance specialist, you will provide expert advice and guidance on regulatory frameworks, inspection processes, governance requirements, and evolving sector standards. You will ensure organisational assurance processes remain aligned with regulatory expectations and support leaders to effectively manage compliance across a diverse healthcare portfolio.
A key aspect of the role will be leading and continuously improving Elysium's regulatory assurance framework. You will develop and oversee a risk-based programme of reviews and assurance activity, using operational, clinical, and regulatory intelligence to identify risks, assess compliance, and provide robust assurance. You will ensure reviews are evidence-based, proportionate, and focused on meaningful outcomes for people who use our services.
You will lead the Provider Compliance Assurance (PCA) team, providing direction, coaching, and support while fostering a culture of curiosity, consistency, accountability, and continuous learning. You will oversee the delivery of assurance reviews, quality assessments, reporting, escalation processes, and follow-up activity, personally leading complex or high-risk reviews where required.
Working closely with operational and clinical leaders, you will promote year-round inspection readiness, helping services demonstrate how they identify risks, deliver improvements, and sustain high standards. You will coordinate organisational support before, during, and after inspections, ensuring services are well prepared and effectively supported through regulatory engagement.
The role will also focus on organisational learning and improvement. Through analysis of inspection findings, assurance reviews, incidents, complaints, and regulatory intelligence, you will identify trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance practice across the organisation. You will develop practical guidance, training, toolkits, and learning resources that build capability and strengthen governance throughout Elysium Healthcare.
As a senior leader, you will provide clear, evidence-based reporting to executive and governance forums, highlighting organisational risks, emerging themes, regulatory performance, and improvement priorities. You will ensure significant concerns are escalated appropriately and that assurance information supports informed decision-making at all levels of the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
- Regulatory intelligence - Material changes are identified, impact-assessed, assigned and communicated through a controlled process.
- Risk-based assurance - Review frequency and scope demonstrably reflect regulatory and service risk; high-risk concerns receive timely follow-up.
- Quality and consistency - Reports pass quality standards, judgements are calibrated and evidence trails support conclusions.
- Action and sustainability - Actions have clear owners and deadlines; closure is evidence-based; repeat concerns and overdue actions are visible and escalated.
- Inspection outcomes - Services receive coordinated support and respond to regulatory findings accurately, promptly and transparently.
- Organisational learning - Themes and good practice are translated into targeted improvement, policy, training or governance action.
- Team leadership - PCA reviewers have clear objectives, appropriate supervision, maintained competence and manageable allocation of work.
- Executive assurance - Senior committees receive concise, balanced and decision-useful reporting on risk, progress and residual gaps.
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in health, social care, quality, governance, regulation, or a related field.
- Significant experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, governance, or operational leadership within healthcare or social care.
