Are you a highly organised administrator with excellent attention to detail and an interest in legal services, data protection, and information governance? We are seeking a Legal, Data Protection & Information Governance Assistant to join our team and provide essential support across both Legal and Information Governance functions.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll play a key part in helping legal matters, data protection requests, and governance activities progress efficiently and within required timescales. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will provide proactive administrative support, coordinate key processes, and ensure sensitive information is handled securely and professionally.
As a Legal & Information Governance Assistant, you will support the day-to-day administration of the Legal function, coordinating correspondence, meetings, document management, intranet legal hub and information requests. You'll assist with the administration of claims, inquests, investigations, disputes, regulatory enquiries, and governance activities, while maintaining accurate records, trackers, and action logs to ensure deadlines and actions are effectively managed. You will also support the administration of legal expenditure, including processing invoices from external legal providers, maintaining spend records, tracking budgets, and liaising with suppliers and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely payments.
You will also play an important role in supporting the organisation's Information Governance and Data Protection framework. This includes coordinating Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), supporting records management activities, assisting with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and helping manage data protection enquiries, incidents, and governance processes. You will support the administration of information security and data protection incidents, including incident logging, investigation tracking, action monitoring, reporting, and record maintenance to help ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
A key aspect of the role will be supporting the day-to-day management of shared Legal and Information Governance mailboxes, monitoring incoming requests, triaging enquiries, allocating actions, maintaining records, and tracking deadlines to ensure matters are progressed appropriately and within required timescales. Working closely with Information Governance Leads and stakeholders across the business, you will help ensure robust governance processes and high standards of compliance are maintained throughout the organisation.
The role will also involve coordinating governance meetings, maintaining accurate and auditable records, monitoring key dates and actions, and supporting reporting, audits, and compliance reviews. You'll act as a professional point of contact for routine enquiries, liaising with colleagues, external advisers, regulators, and suppliers to ensure requests are handled effectively and efficiently.
This is a hybrid role, based one day a week in our office in Borehamwood.
